Our Mission at Saranac Central School:

To promote the fullest growth of all students. In doing this, District stake holders will enable all students to recognize their potential, set realistic goals, and apply their knowledge to life situations.

Our Facilities:

The Saranac Central School District is proud to have some of the finest, award-winning facilities in Upstate New York to help support its outstanding, educational programs.

Since 1985, the District has spent in excess of $40 million in renovation, modernization, and new construction to provide a safe and modern learning environment for its students.

Our Community:

The Saranac Central School District is located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in Northern New York State, 15 miles west of Plattsburgh, 35 miles east of Lake Placid, 150 miles north of Albany and 65 miles south of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The District is situated within the townships of Saranac, Plattsburgh, Beekmantown, Black Brook, Schuyler Falls and Dannemora.

The enrollment in our District is approximately 1,900 in a Junior/Senior High complex and four elementary schools located in Cadyville, Dannemora, Morrisonville and Saranac. There are 150 teaching staff and 130 support staff employed.


Located west of Plattsburgh, the district borders the Adirondack Park, buildings include:

  1. District Office and Dannemora Elementary (2 buildings)
  2. Junior High and Senior High (2 buildings)
  3. Morrisonville Elementary
  4. Cadyville Elementary

Directions to the District Office:
From the North or South, take Exit 38 of Interstate 87
Turn West on Route 374 towards Dannemora (approx. 13 miles)
Turn left on Emmonds Street
Travel approx 1/4 mile
the Dannemora Elementary is on the left, and the District Office is immediately following it also on the left
